Job description

Position Summary :

This role is responsible for the implementation and support of enterprise systems with a focus on Windows Server environments , VMware virtualization , Azure cloud services , VDI infrastructure , networking , and security . This role will require an on-site presence in Wilmington, MA.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design, deploy, and maintain Windows Server environments (2016 / 2019 / 2022).
  • Manage and optimize VMware vSphere infrastructure, including ESXi hosts and vCenter.
  • Support and enhance Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions (e.g., VMware Horizon).
  • Administer and monitor Azure cloud resources, including IaaS, and hybrid integrations.
  • Configure and manage Cisco Meraki networking devices and dashboards.
  • Implement and maintain firewall rules, VPNs, and security policies across on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to TCP / IP networking , DNS, DHCP, and routing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure projects and business initiatives.
  • Ensure system security, compliance, and best practices are followed.
  • Create and maintain documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Serve as Tier II resource for Desktop Support Team
  • Enterprise Backup Administration

Security Responsibilities :

Working closely with the security team

  • Support the implementation of security best practices across all infrastructure components, including servers, virtual environments, cloud services, and endpoints.
  • Perform patch management.
  • Maintain and audit access controls , privileged accounts , and multi-factor authentication (MFA) .
  • Monitor system logs and alerts for suspicious activity and respond to potential threats in a timely manner.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing.

    • Required Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or similar role.
  • Expertise in Windows Server administration and Active Directory .
  • Strong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere and vCenter .
  • Proficiency with Azure services and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Experience with VDI technologies (e.g., VMware Horizon, Citrix, or Azure Virtual Desktop).
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals , including TCP / IP , VLANs, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Familiarity with Cisco Meraki networking solutions.
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell) for automation and system management.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
