Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical Specialty Float Pool position with required stepdown and travel experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the hospital's Float Pool department with assignments in surgical specialty units
  • Provide care to a variety of patients with conditions ranging from simple to complex
  • Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Assignment length is 13 weeks
  • No local candidates accepted per 50-mile radius rule
  • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and deliver competent patient care
  • Document patient responses and changes to prescribed medications or interventions
  • Assist physicians with exams, diagnostic procedures, and treatments as needed
  • Monitor physiological data, administer medications, and manage IV infusions and blood products
  • Communicate plans of care and hospital procedures to patients and families
  • Delegation of tasks to support staff is expected
  • Float Pool assignments may vary based on hospital needs
  • Preceptor and charge experience preferred but not required
  • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Active OK or multistate compact RN license required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
  • Minimum of one year RN experience required
  • Stepdown and travel nursing experience required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations
