Summary

As an emergency response medical professional, you will provide immediate care to victims of accidents, violence, and sudden illnesses, including cardiac arrests and strokes. You will offer advanced life support from initial contact until patients are handed over to the medical facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the ambulance service at public events, providing standby services as needed.
• Document comprehensive assessments and treatments using patient care charting software.
• Assist patients in various crises by providing appropriate medical and therapeutic services.
• Work alongside a partner as a member of an ambulance crew responding to emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Operate advanced life support equipment for patient stabilization.
• Assess injuries or illnesses to develop and prioritize a medical response plan.
• Adhere to dispatcher instructions while driving emergency vehicles safely.
• Administer medications under the direction of a physician.
• Communicate with medical personnel at emergency facilities to discuss treatment protocols.
• Maintain hygiene standards by decontaminating the ambulance after patient transport and reporting any infectious diseases.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs short distances. Expect frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
