Job Description
We are looking for adedicated Pharmacy Technicianto join ourAppeals Department. This role involves working primarily withMedicare cases, as well as someMedicaid patients. Your main responsibility will be to manage denied prior authorization requests by reviewing submitted documentation, requesting additional information when needed, and forwarding cases to pharmacists for final review and determination.
Responsibilities
Process and manage denied prior authorization requests for Medicare and Medicaid patients.
Make 30–60 outbound calls per shift to Medicare members, primarily elderly individuals, regarding denied medication requests.
Review submitted documentation and gather additional information to support the appeals process.
Forward completed cases to pharmacists for final determination.
Deliver exceptional customer service and handle member calls with professionalism and empathy.
Essential Skills
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
Experience in pharmacy operations, appeals, managed care, claims processing, and handling denials.
Strong data entry and customer service capabilities.
Proficient in computer systems and applications.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred; required for certain supervisory roles.
Prior experience with processing prior authorizations.
Excellent verbal communication and phone etiquette.
Skilled in managing and redirecting conversations effectively.
Work Environment
This is a fully remote positionthat requires working in aprivate, distraction-free environmentto ensure compliance withHIPAA regulations. Astrong and reliable Wi-Fi connectionis essential.
The standard work schedule isMonday through Friday,e. Candidates must also be comfortable withrotating weekend and holiday shifts.
Training is conducted Monday through Friday, from 10 : 00 AM to 6 : 30 PM EST. All necessary equipment—including a computer, monitor, and headset—will be provided.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00 / hr.
