Special School District of St. Louis County (SSD), the largest specialized education provider in Missouri, is hiring Bus Drivers to safely transport students with special needs to and from school. Recourse Communications Inc. (RCI) is assisting SSD in finding caring, dependable individuals ready to make a daily difference in students’ lives.

What You’ll Do

As an SSD Bus Driver, you’ll ensure each student’s safe and comfortable ride to school while creating a positive, welcoming environment on your bus. You’ll:

• Transport students with special needs to and from school on assigned routes
• Maintain safety, order, and care while driving and assisting students
• Work closely with monitors and staff to manage student needs
• Follow all safety and traffic regulations
• Complete pre-trip inspections and route documentation

Schedules:

• Monday–Friday, minimum of 5 hours per day (split shift: early morning and afternoon)
• Typical start time 5:30–5:45 AM; afternoon routes end around 5:00–5:30 PM
• 10-month schedule (August–June) with optional summer routes (3–5 additional weeks)

• Starting pay:$19.99–$26.64/hour (based on experience)

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• No DWI or suspended licenses in the past 10 years
• CDL-B with passenger/school bus endorsement preferred but not required: training provided onsite (40–80 hours)
• Experience working with children or in transportation preferred
