No Christmas RTO allowed. Must be available to work weekends with full flexibility for scheduling. Candidate must be willing to float between units. Preference for candidates with experience in ventilators and multiple monitoring skills, specifically CVP and EKG. Description : This is a high-acuity unit managing cases such as injury, respiratory failure, shock, multi-system failure, poisonings, near drowning, meningitis, post-op cardiac surgical care, and neurosurgery. The facility is recognized for excellence in child healthcare and is a teaching facility. The nurse must be capable of managing arterial lines, ventilated patients, monitoring central venous pressure, external ventricular drains, and interpreting dysrhythmias. Experience in a Level 1 trauma center is required, particularly in handling pediatric patients. Candidates with a strong background in pediatric care are preferred. Independent practice is essential, and candidates with less experience will not be considered. The patient-to-nurse ratio ranges from 1 : 1 to 1 : 2. Flexible scheduling is expected, with variable shifts. Travelers may be scheduled for any day shift or night shift as needed. All candidates must meet the established RTO restrictions. Vaccinations including the flu shot are required, with no exemptions allowed. Candidates must also have experience in computerized charting systems.
