Quakertown Veterinary Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Crematory Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining cremation equipment, ensuring that all processes are conducted in a respectful and professional manner. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, as well as the ability to handle sensitive situations with care and empathy.
Shift expectation: Saturday and Sunday
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Act with a high level of uncompromising integrity, ethics and compassion for the care of deceased pets
- Work within established safety guidelines and utilize appropriate PPE equipment
- Complete all required documentation in an accurate, organized and legible manner
- Properly label all deceased pets prior to the start of the cremation process
- Prepare and package cremated pet remains with care and dignity
- Deliver cremated remains to the appropriate party
- Maintain the crematorium, equipment and adjacent facilities
- Promote positive working relationships and efficient and effective communication
- Communicate effectively with all hospital teams to find solutions and resolve concerns
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and guidelines
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary
Preferred Education & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license required
- Certification to operate crematory equipment required
- Previous animal care background is a plus
