• Employment Type : Travel\n\nJob Description\n\nAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position in Illinois requiring BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.\n\nResponsibilities\n
• Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting\n
• Serve a diverse patient population with varying acuity levels\n
• Night shift hours are 10am-10pm\n
• Assignments are 13 weeks in duration\n
• Use of electronic health record (EHR) for documentation\n
• Handle triage according to the ESI triage algorithm\n
• Care for behavioral health patients in acute crisis\n
• Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning and implementation, medication management, and timely documentation\n
• Care for sexual assault victims and manage required documentation and evidence\n
• Communicate clearly with first responders, patients, and families, often in trauma situations\n
• Participate in hospital codes including Code Blue, Code Green, and response team protocols\n
• Manage expired patient care, including required notifications and procedures\n
• Facilitate patient flow and delegate tasks within the department as needed\n
• Adhere to EMTALA guidelines for patient transfers\n
• Adapt to a dynamic environment and maintain emotional and mental stability for patient and team support\n\nRequirements\n
• Current Illinois RN license required\n
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing\n
• Active BLS certification required\n
• ACLS certification required within 1 year of hire\n
• PALS certification required within 1 year of hire\n
• De-escalation training required\n
• At least 1 year of experience in an emergency department or similar setting preferred\n
• Ability to perform physical demands such as lifting and transferring patients and using PPE\n\nBenefits\n
