Staff Accountant
Melville, NY
We just got a call from large, well-established corporation that is looking to hire a Staff Accountant for their team. The company is a top name in their industry and looking for someone with 1 year of accounting experience to work closely with their accounting team in the preparation of month-end close reports and all of the associated reconciliations and analysis. Internship experience counts towards the experience requirement. It is an excellent opportunity to join a corporation that can offer professional development and future advancement. This is a permanent position and they are ready to start interviewing right away. Salary is $65,000 to $70,000 plus bonus and a very good benefits package inclusive of health insurance, 401k with match and paid time off. This is a hybrid schedule, 2 days a week in the office required.
Responsibilities for this role include :
All of the associated reconciliations and journal entries for month end close
Analysis and explanation of variances
Working with external accounting firm on audits
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
1+ years of accounting experience, public accounting background a plus
Experience with MS Dynamics software is preferred
Strong Excel skills; Pivot Tables, VLookups, etc.
