Senior Project Manager
Our client, a well-established Design-Build General Contractor and Construction Management firm headquartered in Plymouth, has been a trusted leader in the construction industry for more than six decades. With a strong focus on educational and municipal projects, they are celebrated for fostering a collaborative culture and maintaining enduring partnerships with local governments and community stakeholders. They are currently looking to add a seasoned Senior Project Manager to their team. This individual will lead the execution of education and municipal construction initiatives while providing guidance and mentorship to a skilled team of Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Managers.
Job responsibilities include :
- Thoroughly review all project specifications and contract conditions to ensure compliance with quality standards and documentation.
- Oversee project schedules, maintaining consistent communication with project managers and clients to track progress.
- Set work priorities, estimate labor needs, and assign tasks based on team members' skills and training.
- Coordinate and monitor delivery and usage of materials, equipment, and subcontractor activities on-site.
- Manage labor costs by tracking expenditures, identifying budget variances, and implementing corrective actions.
- Train employees on job responsibilities, site protocols, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including equipment logs, daily activity reports, safety records, and timekeeping.
- Conduct regular inspections to verify that construction work meets contract specifications and quality benchmarks.
- Ensure quality control across all aspects of the project and job site.
- Provide guidance and support to resolve job-related challenges and issues.
- Monitor employee performance and address disciplinary matters when necessary.
- Foster a culture that prioritizes safety, health, and cleanliness throughout the project lifecycle.

The successful applicant will have :
Associate Degree in Construction Management or similar field, or a Journeyman status in a building trade, or a combination of high school diploma with relevant experience and related certificationsMinimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry on complex projectsMinimum 3 years of direct supervisory experience.Experience with self-performKnowledge of a wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniques.Must be capable of reading and comprehending blueprints and specifications for institutional, commercial and industrial projects.Ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders, such as owners, subcontractors, project managers, field employees.Solid understanding of project cost analysis.Proficiency with spreadsheets, email and other software used in the construction industryWhat's on offer :
