Position Title : Certified Home Health Aide
Duration : Weeks with possibility of extension

Shift hours : M - F : am - pm
NOTE : We need someone with an active CHHA license (not just CNA), preferably with HH or hospice experience. If not, someone who has worked as a CNA and now has a CHHA license would be great too.
Looking for someone with a warm personality, friendly, outgoing, organized, efficient time management, able to work independently to organize their schedule (with supervision, but they are primarily responsible for scheduling their patient visits). Need good concept of field work and multiple patient visits per day.
Job Summary :
The Certified Home Health / Hospice Aide (CHHA) is a paraprofessional member of the home care / hospice team who works under the supervision of a registered nurse or therapist and performs and assists patient with various personal care services as necessary to meet the patient’s personal needs and to promote comfort.
The CHHA is responsible for observing patients, reporting these observations, and documenting observations and care performed.
The CHHA will be assigned in a manner that promotes quality, continuity and safety of a patient’s care.
The CHHA will not function in any manner viewed as the practice of nursing according to the state's Nurse Practice Act.
Specifically, the CHHA will not administer medications, take physician's orders or perform procedures requiring the training, knowledge and skill of a nurse, such as sterile techniques.

For clinical positions, this includes clinical procedures required by Customer and unit, as demonstrated by unit-based competency testing.

Travel – Position may require local travel between various organization locations.
Sixteen hours of classroom must be completed prior to a mandatory hours of practical training.
Hospice : Completed a minimum of hours of classroom and supervised practical training.
Provides a calm manner when in a patient’s home. Understands hospice philosophy, comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill and secure with issues of death / dying. Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired.
Qualification :
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) certification in the State of California, in good standing.
Current BLS certification.
Registration on the Home Care Aide Registry through the Customer of Social Services, Home Care Services Bureau, in good standing.
Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and / or organization requirements and is in good working order.
