1. General job duties. Types of procedures required.
MRI Technologist cares for patients while operating equipment to produce high quality images for Radiologist interpretation. In addition, The MR Technologist is responsible for EMR / PACS navigation, general patient care, positioning patients, providing procedure information and executing proper imaging protocol / technique for all examinations. Complies with all regulatory requirements in providing safe and appropriate care.
2. Equipment utilized in the unit / dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
GE Signa Artist (1.5T) and GE Signa Architect (3T) – EPIC Charting – McKesson PACS System
3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.
1 year of MR experience
4. Specific licensures and certifications / registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
ARRT or ARMRIT, BLS,
5.Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
Dependent on department needs. First shift (7am-7 : 30pm) Third shift (7pm – 7 : 30am).
Will discuss weekend / call requirements in interview
6.Floating to other units / departments. (If so, to which units / departments?)
Will maintain assignments within the Medical Center and the designated magnets therein.
7. Bed size / number of rooms for this unit / dept.
650+ bed hospital – 5 total MR magnets at OSF St. Francis Medical Center
8. Dress Code : No specific scrub style or color is required.
Additional Comments :
The department is located within a Level 1 trauma center. The department scans a combination of outpatients and inpatients. Our facility scans a wide variety of patients ranging from routine to critical conditions of all age demographics, including under sedation and anesthesia. Our facility performs numerous protocols both routine and complex in nature within Neuro, Body, and MSK designations. Our facility will research and safely scans implants including pacemakers, stimulators, aneurysm clips ect.
