The Nebraska Capitol Commission is currently seeking an Electrician to join their team. This position will be responsible for the maintenance of the electrical components in the Nebraska State Capitol Building. They will be working on motors, VFD's, switches, outlets, lighting and changing ballasts and light bulbs. They will be working with the maintenance staff and assisting them and learning the day to day operations of the building and equipment so that when on-call will be able to respond to after hour problems. They will also assist with seasonal snow removal.

Job duties include working on electrical issues, other maintenance tasks such as changing filters, helping with events and assisting on plumbing issues, working on the building automation system, and all other duties assigned within the scope of the classification.
Minimum qualifications include possession of a Nebraska Journeyman Electrical license OR Electrical Contractor license or eligibility to become licensed in Nebraska. Legal requirements include a current Electrical Contractor license to obtain electrical permits, and a current Journeyman Electrical license to perform electrical installation. Preferred qualifications include a licensed electrical contractor, also familiar with multiple building trades such as plumbing, refrigeration and motor maintenance. This position requires driving. As such, the incumbent must be able to present a valid driver's license. Regular and reliable attendance is required.
Able to lift 50lbs and excellent knowledge of electrical systems. Good understanding of plumbing, air handlers, geothermal equipment and experience with building automation systems.
