Responsibilities
As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will evaluate and deliver specialized speech-language therapy directly in patients' homes, working closely under the guidance of their attending physician. In this role, you'll typically visit a variety of settings such as individual residences, assisted living facilities, independent living environments, or memory care units.
Your responsibilities will involve assessing and treating patients with a variety of communication challenges, including language impairments, motor speech disorders, dysphagia, cognitive communication difficulties, voice disorders, and those in need of alternative or augmentative communication solutions. Additionally, you will frequently support patients recovering from strokes and those with progressive conditions such as Parkinson's disease and dementia.
