Job Description
We are currently hiring for an electricians helper. You will be fetching tools, assisting in wire pulls, keeping vehicles clean, helping with miscellaneous tasks.
I'll cut to the chase, you're job will be to take care of the annoying tasks that me (the owner) and my technician dont want to be bothered with. My technician is still new to the trades, but he does what I tell him and he has critical thinking skills. Less than a year ago, he didnt have any work experience as an electrician, and now he gets his own work van outfitted with all the tools he needs to be successful.
With his guidance on jobs where I am absent, you will help him finish jobs faster - which means the company is more profitable, which makes me happy and when im happy I pay you more. We deal with a lot of jobs that are not normal circumstances which means critical thinking and outside-the-box thinking is a necessity skill that you must demonstrate.
Here are some guarantees I can give you :
You will never be put into a situation that I do not think you can handle. I am a very good judge of character and work competence.
I will put you in situations that require you to use your brain to work through logic-based problems.
You will become very good at speaking to customers and how to read body language for the purpose of selling a service.
You will learn how to become a competent electrician.
You will learn how to start and grow a business.
Things I absolutely hate and will 100% impact your growth in the company :
Cursing in front of customers.
Not realizing your voice carries in a customers basement when they are directly above you.
Not cleaning : If Im catching you on your phone when we havent even started work for the day, meanwhile the van needs cleaned - I usually put a 2 month freeze on pay increases. (Every 4-6 Months is $1 raise until $35 / hr).
Routinely calling off. If the first month has more than 3 call offs, clearly this job isnt that important to you. Ive called off 8 times in 20 years. If something pops up and you give me 48 hour notice - im fine with that, thats not a call off. If your shift starts at 7am and you're telling me you cant make it in at 6 : 30am, thats a call off.
If you smoke cigarettes, you better quit.
If you smoke weed, do it at home and take a bleach bath before coming in.
Saying, "thats not my job" or waiting for someone else to do it.
This probably seems like a lot of demands from a job posting - but here's the facts, I will show you how money is made and if you stick with this company for 5 years, you will have the capacity to make six figures working for yourself in 5 years.
You will be expected to maintain a professional appearance and attitude, including facial hair work clothes, and how you speak with customers.
PTO : You earn days off as you work. A full time employee working 52 weeks will have earned two weeks of PTO by the end of their first year.
Medical : After 90 days, we will pay up to $250 / Month toward a medical plan.
