About The Position

Job Title : Medical Surgical Float Registered Nurse

Profession : Registered Nurse

Specialty : Medical Surgical Float

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Night

Hours per Shift : 12 hours (7 PM - 7 : 30 AM)

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience

License : Must possess a valid RN license

Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS)

Must-Have : Previous charge experience and familiarity with patient ratios of 6 : 1

Description :

Position requires a Medical Surgical Float Registered Nurse.

The role involves working 3 shifts of 12 hours each week, with a commitment of 36 hours.

Weekend coverage is required every other week.

Holiday rotation is mandatory.

Floating to medical surgical floors is part of the responsibilities.

Patient ratios may vary depending on the unit assigned.

Candidates accepted with a minimum of 2 years of experience.

First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Candidates must have a valid South Carolina or multi-state / compact RN license.

Basic Life Support certification is required.

This role does not require trauma level experience.

Block scheduling may be accommodated upon manager approval and based on unit needs.

Candidates from a local radius of 60 miles will be considered.

If a candidate has 7 days or less of non-holiday requested time off, the account manager can assist with the process.

Employees may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, which runs from June through November.

Travelers should ensure they do not confirm a new or extended assignment during this season.

The role involves various nursing skills including isolation precautions and oxygen administration.

Candidates should be familiar with peripheral line care and management, as well as starting and maintaining IVs.

The facility prioritizes non-local candidates for this position.
