Job Title : Medical Assistant

Qualifications : Minimum requirement of successful completion of Medical Assisting Program / School, National Certification is preferred. Current CPR / BLS certification.

Skills or Other Qualifications : Excellent communication skills, basic knowledge of computers, strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment.

Job Summary / Responsibilities :

• Perform patient care services including, but not limited to, gathering intake information, rooming patients, collecting data (vital signs, medication reconciliation, spirometry), accurate documentation in EHR and timely patient flow.
• Ensure priority of care is provided to patients in an emergency situation.
• Ensure patient is appropriately prepared for provider encounter.
• Assist healthcare providers with testing procedures, treatments and testing as directed
• Provide patient instructions for tests and treatments.
• Provide patient and family education pertaining to healthcare management, disease process, treatment, test(s), medication and follow-up, under direct supervision of health care provider.
• Notify patients of lab and diagnostic test results under the direct supervision of the health care provider.
