Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 03 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an RN with Med / Surg and Tele experience for a Float Pool position with 12-hour night shifts and multi-site floating within a 60-mile radius. Responsibilities Float Pool role across multiple hospital settings within a 60-mile radius of the city center Patient population includes both medical-surgical and telemetry cases No designated home unit or facility; assignments are scheduled throughout the float zone EPIC Charting system is used and experience is preferred 12-hour night shifts, working three days per week Floating may include duties outside of original job requirements in line with facility policy Responsible for assessing and managing complex patient care including IVs, wound care, medication administration, and catheterization Provide patient and family education, advocate for patient safety, and coordinate care collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams Mentor new staff or nursing students as needed Professional conduct and continuous quality improvement participation are expected All travelers must obtain a flu shot between Nov 1 and March 31; only medical exemptions are allowed and must be physician-signed Holiday coverage and flexible floating are required Travelers may only remain on assignment for up to one calendar year before taking a required break Requirements Active CO or compact RN license is required at the time of consideration; no pending licenses accepted Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred Current AHA certifications required : BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS At least one year of Med / Surg or Tele nursing experience preferred Must live at least 60 miles from all locations within the float zone; locals are not eligible for traveler positions Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-619656.
