Interior Design Intern (Luxury Residential)

Miami Interiors is a premier interior design firm headquartered in Miami, FL, specializing in luxury residential spaces that merge elegance, comfort, and cutting-edge design. With a growing presence in the Mid-Atlantic region, we are expanding our projects to Fairfax, Virginia and are seeking a passionate and creative Interior Design Intern to support our local design team.
Role Summary
As an Interior Design Intern in our Fairfax location, you’ll assist in various phases of the design process, from concept development to sourcing and project execution. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in high-end residential design while working under the guidance of seasoned professionals from a nationally recognized firm.
Responsibilities
Assist with creating mood boards, material palettes, and presentation decks
Source furniture, fabrics, fixtures, and finishes for luxury residential projects
Support site visits, take measurements, and document existing conditions
Maintain project documentation and sample library
Communicate with vendors, showrooms, and clients when needed
Assist with design research, procurement tracking, and installation coordination
Collaborate with remote team members and designers based in Miami
Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Interior Design or related field
Strong interest in high-end residential design
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or Adobe Creative Suite
Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
Detail-oriented with a strong design sense
Reliable transportation for occasional site visits around Fairfax, VA
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Preferred Skills
Experience with 3D rendering software (e.g., Enscape, Lumion)
Knowledge of luxury design trends and materials, usa websites and sources
Prior internship or studio experience is a plus
