Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Echo Technologist Discipline : Allied Health Professional Start Date : 12 / 01 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 8 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Title : Pediatric Echo Tech (Cardiac Sonographer) Location : Charleston, SC Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day Shift, 5x8-Hour (6 : 30 AM – 3 : 00 PM) | Monday–Friday | No weekends, holidays, or on-call Job Responsibilities : Perform pediatric echocardiograms, ensuring high-quality imaging and accurate data for physician interpretation. Handle a daily caseload of 4–10 echocardiograms per day. Work collaboratively with cardiologists and medical staff to support patient diagnosis and care. Float between Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and North Charleston clinic (SMP) as required. Enter full reports using GE (Vivid 95) and PACS systems. Must be proficient in scanning pediatric echocardiograms and identifying complex congenital heart defects. Maintain proper documentation and compliance with department and facility protocols. Support hurricane emergency response efforts during the June–November season, if required. Required Skills & Qualifications : Experience : Minimum 2 years of pediatric echocardiography experience. Certifications : Registered Pediatric Sonographer (ARDMS) with PE certification or CCI with RCCS certification — all must be in hand at time of start. BLS required. Technical Skills : Proficiency in GE Vivid 95 and PACS systems preferred. Strong knowledge of complex congenital heart disease and defects. Other Requirements : Must be proficient in performing and interpreting pediatric echocardiograms. Pending state license accepted. Highly recommended to provide MD reference. Preferred Skills Teaching or hospital experience (preferred, not required). Strong communication and teamwork skills within a pediatric care environment.
