Mechanic – Equipment & Vehicles / CDL Driver

Job Description

As a member of the Apollo Electrical Services Inc team, you will perform various tasks to maintain the day-to-day operations of our vehicles and equipment while ensuring our work adheres to all company safety policies and OSHA mandated requirements. Must have CDL to transport large equipment to jobsites.

Position expectations

  • Maintenance of company vehicle fleet, heavy equipment, and power tools
  • Movement of company equipment between jobsites (CDL required)
  • Transporting goods as needed

    Job Specifics

  • Maintain and repair company vehicles; keep accurate records for work
  • Maintain and repair company heavy equipment as needed (i.e.., forklift, boom, etc.)
  • Maintain and repair company power tools
  • Maintain and repair jobsite generators
  • Log incoming / outgoing inventory as required
  • Maintain accurate inventory records
  • Assist in coordination of products entering / leaving warehouse
  • Maintain all company standards / procedures

    • Skills & Knowledge

  • Knowledge of safety & distribution components
  • Knowledge of commercial electrical industry
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Suite products
  • Excellent communication skills – clear and precise

    • Requirements

  • CDL required; valid driver's license in good standing
  • Must have own tools
  • Proven track record of detailed work
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures & legal regulations / guidelines
  • Demonstrated excellent critical thinking & problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to travel to various work sites including West Coast of Florida; clean driving record
  • Must speak / read / write English

    • Preferred

  • Inventory experience helpful
  • 2 plus years' experience in the electrical industry
  • Bilingual – English / Spanish
  • Ability to operate multiple types of equipment

    • Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Will require regular travel.
  • Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.

    • Must be on call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite.
