Responsibilities Work in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit with both perinatal and postpartum patient care responsibilities Shift is 12 hours, day shift from 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 30 PM Labor & Delivery has 6 labor rooms; Postpartum unit has 22 beds Patient ratio is 1 : 1 or 1 : 2 for labor and delivery, and 1 : 6 for postpartum Unit handles 90-120 deliveries per month Floating required between labor and delivery and postpartum units On-call required for one 12-hour shift every six weeks Work every other weekend and holidays as needed by the unit Primary responsibilities include providing care to laboring mothers and postpartum patients Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a high-volume setting RTO (time off) approval required; holiday coverage may be assigned Local candidates are accepted at the same rate except where otherwise specified Requirements Active MD or compact state RN license required Minimum two years of recent L&D experience Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) from NCC, NRP (advanced), and S.T.A.B.L.E.
