Job Description

Provides professional engineering service and support in the planning, construction, operation, maintenance, and analysis of PSE facilities and assets. Schedules and coordinates major segments of complex projects to meet cost and time objectives. Reviews design and documentation to ensure compliance with PSE expectations. Interprets and applies existing guidelines and engineering principles, practices, and theories toward the completion of assignments involving a substantial degree of complexity, with many interrelated elements requiring considerations not previously encountered. Supports the continued development of PSE's engineering workforce by sharing knowledge with others. Supports emergency response operations when needed.

Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and / or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

Specific Job Description

Puget Sound Energy's Gas System Engineering (GSE) department is looking for an Engineer III to join our team. GSE provides engineering analysis and design, construction and operations support, to ensure safety, reliability, integrity and capacity of PSE's natural gas system. Frequent duties of the Engineer III include :

• Applying PSE standards and engineering principles to design high pressure pipelines, regulator stations, odorization equipment, and other complex installations throughout the gas service territory;
• Collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders and subject matter experts to solve complex technical issues;
• Prioritizing and managing work to drive PSE initiatives;
• Providing technical engineering services to other PSE departments (e.g., preparing technical procedures for field operations, troubleshooting systems, equipment or facility abnormalities);
• Performing research in response to technical issues and reporting on findings to diverse audiences;
• Supporting emergency response operations during or after office hours when called upon; and the ideal candidate will possess a combination of strong communication skills, proficiency working within a team and developing relationships with peers, and technical knowledge about the design and construction of natural gas infrastructure.

The pay range for this position is$91,100.00-$151,600.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
