Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Position Overview :

This role is ideal for an experienced pharmacist ready to take on a leadership position as the Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) within an outpatient setting. Located in Peridot, AZ, this contract opportunity offers a flexible schedule with 8- or 10-hour shifts tailored to support work-life balance. The focus is on delivering exceptional patient care while managing daily pharmacy operations in compliance with policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Supervise and direct daily pharmacy operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory compliance
  • Lead and manage pharmacy staff, providing mentorship and fostering professional development
  • Oversee prescription processing, including controlled substances, maintaining accuracy and timeliness
  • Counsel patients effectively, providing current medication knowledge and guidance
  • Manage purchasing and inventory to maintain cost-effective pharmaceutical supply
  • Utilize computer-based dispensing systems to ensure operational efficiency and data accuracy
  • Participate in quality assurance, orientation, training, and continuous education programs
  • Prepare operational reports to identify improvement areas and implement solutions

Qualifications and Desired Experience :

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred
  • Minimum of two years hospital practice experience preferred
  • At least five years of professional pharmacy experience, with two years in pharmacy management role
  • Completion of a one-year residency (PGY1) preferred
  • Current and unrestricted pharmacist license; Arizona license preferred
  • BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Licensed or ability to obtain licensure for immunizations, vaccines, and emergency medications
  • Strong leadership skills with a patient-focused approach and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Flexibility to adapt and relocate within the region as needed

  • Flexible days and hours with options for 8- or 10-hour shifts
