Position Overview :
This role is ideal for an experienced pharmacist ready to take on a leadership position as the Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) within an outpatient setting. Located in Peridot, AZ, this contract opportunity offers a flexible schedule with 8- or 10-hour shifts tailored to support work-life balance. The focus is on delivering exceptional patient care while managing daily pharmacy operations in compliance with policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise and direct daily pharmacy operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory compliance
- Lead and manage pharmacy staff, providing mentorship and fostering professional development
- Oversee prescription processing, including controlled substances, maintaining accuracy and timeliness
- Counsel patients effectively, providing current medication knowledge and guidance
- Manage purchasing and inventory to maintain cost-effective pharmaceutical supply
- Utilize computer-based dispensing systems to ensure operational efficiency and data accuracy
- Participate in quality assurance, orientation, training, and continuous education programs
- Prepare operational reports to identify improvement areas and implement solutions
Qualifications and Desired Experience :
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferredMinimum of two years hospital practice experience preferredAt least five years of professional pharmacy experience, with two years in pharmacy management roleCompletion of a one-year residency (PGY1) preferredCurrent and unrestricted pharmacist license; Arizona license preferredBLS certification required within 90 days of hireLicensed or ability to obtain licensure for immunizations, vaccines, and emergency medicationsStrong leadership skills with a patient-focused approach and ability to work well in a team environmentFlexibility to adapt and relocate within the region as neededSchedule / Hours :
