  • Location : Shelby, NC 28150 – North Carolina healthcare jobs\n
  • Unit : Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – 32 beds\n
  • Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract (August 25, 2025 – November 22, 2025)\n
  • Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM)\n
  • Hours per Week : 36 guaranteed\n
  • Estimated Weekly Pay : $1,570 - $1,680\n
  • Weekend Rotation : Every other weekend\n
  • Holiday Coverage : 75% of holidays required\n
  • Scrub Color : Navy\n

    • \n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n \n

  • Active RN license (Registered Nurse)\n
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required\n
  • Minimum 18 months of recent Progressive Care Unit RN experience\n
  • Clinical skills : tracheostomy care, cardiac gtt, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tube management, blood product administration, wound care, and central line management\n
  • Ability to float within the region and scope of practice\n
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred\n

    • \n\nPCU Nurse Responsibilities\n \n

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU patients with conditions including CHF, dysrhythmia, chest pain, stroke, abdominal illnesses, respiratory illness, diabetes, AKI / CKD, ETOH withdrawal, and more\n
  • Manage patient ratios of 1 : 4 (may flex to 1 : 5 based on acuity)\n
  • Conduct assessments, administer medications, and deliver clinical interventions\n
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team : CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV / VAT team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists\n
  • Utilize advanced medical technology : Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Phillips monitors\n
  • Float to other healthcare facilities within the region as needed\n
  • Participate in orientation and ongoing professional development\n
