UW Medical Center-Montlake - General Internal Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C). Work schedule is full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week) Monday-Friday, 9 : 00am-5 : 30pm Day Shift.
Located in the University District, the General Internal Medicine Center at UW Medical Center - Roosevelt provides comprehensive primary care for adult patients, including preventive medicine services, assessment and treatment of acute medical problems and monitoring and treatment of chronic diseases. We are a dynamic teaching clinic, focused on providing patient-centered care grounded in the best available medical evidence.

Primary job responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, performing injections, preparing and cleaning exam rooms, submitting medication prior authorizations, recognizing symptoms of common medical illnesses, acting as a liaison between patient, patient's family, and providers, assisting provider with procedures and medical exams, performing point of care testing and reporting abnormal laboratory values, and assisting in transporting patients as required.
Requirements include completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board or equivalent, Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire, and valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card.

Compensation, benefits and position details : Pay Range Minimum $57,648.00 annual, Pay Range Maximum $82,476.00 annual, overtime eligible, benefits available. This is a regular position, 100.00% FTE, SEIU Local 925 Nonsupervisory.
