Registered Nurse - Med Surg - Neuro -

Unit Specifics : Number of Beds : 20

Patient Ratios : 6 : 1

Unit staffing description : Tech support on day shift and night shift. Unit secretary 7a-7p.

Type of equipment : IV Pumps, Telemetry, SCD s, Continuous Pulse Ox Machines, Feeding Pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, iMobile communication technology

Documentation system : Meditech

Hospital Specifics-

Certifications : Comprehensive Stroke, ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center

Scheduling requirements : 3 12 hours shifts / week; 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4 week schedule

Floating policy : Contract labor is first to float; go by rotation when there are multiple C / L staff scheduled

Patient Experience requirements : Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients / family members.

Bedside shift report, ability to make personal connections with patients and include them / family members in their plan of care.

Requested Skill Set : Med / Surg Experience, ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IV s, basic wound care, maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, & chest tubes.

Must have : Active RN license, BLS certification

Dress Code : (Required uniform) Navy scrubs, tops and bottoms.
