The Coalition for Family Harmony is dedicated to providing direct services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, while also delivering prevention programs that foster safer communities. Through its partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme, the Coalition brings mental health support directly to youth in the community.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Associate Therapist to provide on-site therapy and group support to youth ages 518 across multiple Boys & Girls Club locations. This role focuses on enhancing emotional wellness, preventing teen dating violence, and helping youth navigate challenges related to family, school, and social environments.
Provide individual and group therapy for youth ages 518 at assigned Boys & Girls Club locations
Conduct support groups addressing the needs and experiences of youth participants
Complete assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other clinical documentation using the Coalitions electronic health record system
Track attendance, collect pre- and post-program surveys, and provide reports to Boys & Girls Club and Coalition administration
Participate in supervision sessions with the Clinical Supervisor and collaborative meetings with Coalition and Boys & Girls Club staff
Attend ongoing internal and external trainings on trauma-informed care, domestic violence, sexual assault, and youth wellness topics
Masters Degree in a clinical field (required)
Registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (AMFT, ASW, or APCC)
Domestic Violence Counselor certification (within 1 year of hire; training provided)
Sexual Assault Counselor certification (within 1 year of hire; training provided)
LGBTQ+ 101 cultural sensitivity training (within 6 months of hire; training provided)
Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
Strong communication and crisis management skills
Ability to manage a caseload of 2830 clients within a 40-hour schedule
Proficiency in G Suite and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to work independently across multiple locations and maintain detailed records
Commitment to ongoing professional development and expanding knowledge in trauma and gender-based violence
Ability to communicate effectively with youth, parents, and staff in person and electronically
May be required to sit, stand, bend, or lift up to 10 lbs.
Must demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and non-violent communication
Maintain a positive, collaborative, and supportive attitude
Travel may be required
Must pass extensive background checks by both the Coalition for Family Harmony and the Boys & Girls Club
Travel required between Oxnard and Port Hueneme club sites (mileage reimbursed)
This position is considered a Mandated Reporter per BBS guidelines
