Job Title : Part-Time Boys Basketball Head Coach (Grades 68)

Job Summary

The Part-Time Boys Basketball Head Coach is responsible for leading the middle school boys basketball program for grades 68. The coach will provide instruction, mentorship, and leadership to student-athletes while promoting skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This role requires prior coaching experience, a strong knowledge of the game, and the ability to create a positive and supportive environment for players.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct structured practices that emphasize fundamental skills, strategy, teamwork, and character development.
  • Manage games effectively while modeling and reinforcing positive behavior.
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices and games to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Foster a culture of respect, responsibility, and sportsmanship on and off the court.
  • Attend all practices and games during the season.

Requirements

  • Prior basketball coaching experience required; playing experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of basketball rules, strategies, and player development.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and staff.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Availability for practices and games throughout the season.

    • Season Details

  • Duration : Late October through late January.
  • Schedule : Practices Monday through Friday.
  • Breaks : No practices or games during exams or holiday break (approximately December 11January 5).
