Laborer - Commercial Construction

Laborer Position

Pepper Construction is a national general contracting and construction management firm that primarily serves the private sector. As a Laborer you may perform a wide variety of duties and tasks that often require them to assist other trades people including carpenters. This includes loading, unloading, and moving materials from within or near the construction site from pallets, skids, trucks, or other locations. Move materials to or from storage or work sites. Driving equipment as needed, selective demolition, concrete placement or flagging, proficient in stacking and assembling materials into bundles, making simple repairs and adjustments to machinery or trucks, working independently and with little direction, having initiative to find work activities when waiting for next task directive, assisting Carpenter's general partition layout, framing, sheet rock installation and other rough and finish carpentry work as assigned, building temporary protection including barricades, visqueen, floor protection, etc. General clean-up including vacuuming, sweeping, and rubbish removal, selective demolition of non-load bearing walls, ceilings, and flooring material and clean-up of all demolition debris, and other duties as assigned.

Relevant experience in commercial construction is preferred, along with OSHA 10, operator's certificate. Ability to lift / push / pull up to 100 lbs. Detail-oriented, well-organized, and ability to multi-task. Task-oriented, reliable, and committed to meeting deadlines. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexible availability, including some overtime, weekends, and night shifts.
