Job Description :

The iFlex RN is part of Intermountain’s internal travel agency for assignments. This is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. This RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. Our iFlex RNs are expected to float if not needed at assigned facility.

Primary Children's Hospital is the only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center in a five-state region. Our facility includes a 32-bed PICU, 16-bed CICU, 28-bed Neuro Trauma Unit, and a 50-bed Level IV NICU. With over 1,500 neonatal and pediatric transports each year, our hospital is recognized for its commitment to excellence in pediatric care.

Our iFlex Internal Travel Agency is hiring for a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. This premier pediatric facility offers specialized care in a compassionate, family-centered environment.

About the iFlex RN Role – PICU :

As an iFlex RN in the PICU, you’ll support critically ill children and adolescents requiring intensive monitoring and treatment. This role is ideal for experienced pediatric ICU nurses who excel in high-pressure situations and are committed to delivering exceptional care to young patients.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Deliver intensive nursing care to pediatric patients with complex medical conditions
  • Monitor vital signs and manage ventilators, IV medications, and other critical therapies
  • Collaborate with pediatric intensivists and multidisciplinary teams
  • Provide emotional support and education to families
  • Document care accurately and efficiently

Minimum Qualifications :

  • PALS certification
  • Experienced nurses able to manage ventilators and drips without additional training
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice. Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
  • RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
  • Compensation and Benefits :

  • $68–$75 / hour flat rate, adjusted quarterly
  • Competitive pay aligned with travel RN market rates
  • Pro-rated monthly housing reimbursement for assignments 50+ miles from home
  • Nurses secure their own housing during travel assignments
  • Posting Specifics :

  • Shift : Variable (50 / 50)
  • Schedule : Full-time 13-week assignment
  • Travel Requirements :

  • Must be willing to float throughout Primary Children's Hospital (primarily NICU, CICU, CCU) and to Primary Children's Lehi
  • Physical Requirements :

    Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

  • and -
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

  • and -
  • Need to walk and assist with transporting / ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing / pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.).

  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period.

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

    $7.25 - $999.99
