RADIOLOGY TECH - WEEKENDER
Position Summary :
The Imaging aide works under the direction of leadership in imaging services and provides support as it relates to daily operations. This individual must provide patients with focused compassionate care to ensure the patients’ needs are met. The imaging aide must communicate with patients and colleagues professionally and efficiently while providing high quality service.
Department Summary :
The department provides imaging services within the health care facility to patients in need.
Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous healthcare experience preferred.
- CPR Certification

Responsibilities & Expectations :
Provide the Imaging Service’s technologists with support and assistance.Obtain patient history prior to exam.Verifying consents and patient lab work.Keeping rooms stocked and clean.Ensuring that all orders have been received and are accurate for the next business day.Answer department telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner; direct calls to theappropriate personnel.
Schedule same day “add on” outpatients.Schedule inpatients and arrange for patient transport.Complete tasks and requests made by the Radiologists.Clerical duties.Follow all Aultman Health Foundation policies and procedures for safety, infection control,HIPPA, etc.
Will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating rooms on their assigned teams.Faxing reports and releasing images to outside facilitiesCall and confirm patient appointments and give instructionsTake patients on and off Imaging tableAssist in room clean up, room turnover, etc.Assist in positioning of patients when applicable.Prioritize the needs of assigned rooms to best utilize your availability.o Be available for emergencies that arise in assigned rooms.
Organize and put away equipment and stock to specific areas.Serve as resource person, problem solver, and facilitator for assigned rooms.Prior to leaving for the day, will ensure that all supplies and laundry are ready and available forthe remaining exams.
Modality specific responsibilities depending on area aide works in.Maintain CPR certification.Working Conditions :
Has variable shift rotation that includes but is not limited to 7 : 00am-3 : 30pm, 9 : 00am-5 : 30pm,etc.
Extensive walking or standing for long periods of time is required.Breaks and lunch are coordinated with other personnel and workload.Blood and body fluid exposure = 1Frequent changes in duties throughout working hours.Cross training in all areas is required, as diverse duties may be assigned.Heavy lifting, pulling, and pushing are required.Involved with personnel, patients, and physicians under all circumstances and conditions.Category I – Includes tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
All procedures or other job-related tasks that involve an inherent potential for spills or splashes of, or mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids or tissues are Category I tasks. Use of appropriate protective measures is required for every employee engaged in Category I tasks.
