Job Title : Maintenance Mechanic ll - (HVAC belts and Filters)

Location : 150 Comstock Circle Stanford, CA 94305

7 : 00am-3 : 30pm

Pay rate : $39- $40 / hr on W2

Position Overview :

The Facilities / Maintenance Mechanic II performs a wide variety of routine and moderately complex maintenance, repair, and installation duties in facility operations. This position works under general supervision, independently or as part of a team, to maintain mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems, ensuring all work complies with safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities :

General Duties

  • Perform maintenance tasks of moderate complexity with minimal supervision.
  • Work independently or as part of a crew on assigned maintenance activities.
  • Follow established procedures and safety protocols; make independent choices between predefined options.
  • May lead or assist other maintenance staff in daily operations.
  • Maintain clean and safe work environments and adhere to safety regulations and PPE standards.

Plumbing Maintenance

  • Repair and replace faucets, toilets, sinks, bathtubs, and hot water heaters.
  • Cut, bend, solder, and thread pipes; assemble water pipe fittings.
  • Bleed hot water and steam heating systems.
  • Repair or replace thermocouples, gas control valves, and heat exchangers.

    • Electrical Maintenance

  • Replace switches, outlets, sockets, and lighting fixtures.
  • Route conduit and perform basic electrical hook-ups.
  • Repair small electrical appliances and hand tools.
  • Troubleshoot and tag faulty electrical equipment for repair.

    • Mechanical Maintenance

  • Replace fan and drive belts; clean and lubricate motors and fans.
  • Replace air filters and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems.
  • Identify and report faulty mechanical equipment.

    • Automotive and Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform basic adjustments such as carburetor tuning, valve clearance, and vehicle lubrication.

    • Carpentry & Structural Repairs

  • Repair or restore furniture, doors, and windows.
  • Patch walls and ceilings; paint interior partitions.
  • Install shelving, bookcases, locks, and hardware.

    • Other Maintenance Duties

  • Perform pool maintenance, including cleaning filters, traps, and maintaining chemical levels.
  • Assist in groundskeeping, painting, and general facility upkeep.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within scope of skill set.

    • Minimum Qualifications :

  • Education / Experience : Minimum 2 years of work experience in building or equipment maintenance.

    • (Equivalent combination of vocational training, apprenticeship, or relevant experience may be considered.)

  • Knowledge / Skills :

    • Proficiency in one or more trades (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or carpentry).

  • Ability to safely operate tools and equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with safety and building maintenance standards.

    • Licenses and Certifications :

  • Valid California Class C Non-Commercial Driver’s License (required).
  • EPA Certification (required).

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift 40 lbs regularly and perform heavy manual labor in all weather conditions.
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Occasional seated work, writing, or use of office tools.
  • Must be able to work at heights, confined spaces, and around mechanical / electrical equipment.
