Oversees field operations across Central Florida (5-10 projects), collaborating with AMs / PMs and Superintendents to ensure efficient execution and adherence to project plans.
- Collaborate with project construction staff to ensure seamless coordination.
- Oversee field operations and work sequencing alongside the Project Manager.
- Direct project personnel activities to meet schedule and budget goals.
- Support supervisors in maintaining production within budget and timeline.
- Review project estimates to determine schedules, costs, procedures, staffing needs, and resource allocation.
- Thoroughly understand project documents, identifying completeness or deficiencies.
- Proactively anticipate project needs to prevent production delays.
- Develop work plans and staffing for each project phase, coordinating with HR for recruitment as needed.
- Work with project staff to assign duties, responsibilities, and authority scope.
- Monitor progress, adjust schedules or plans, and prepare reports for management, owners, and subcontractors.
- Stay vigilant for productivity issues and opportunities to enhance project performance.
- Provide technical advice and resolve issues by collaborating with project personnel.
- Secure commitments from employees, supervisors, owners, and external teams to meet managerial and supervisory needs.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure a safe workplace.
- Manage and update formal project construction schedules per contract requirements.
- Optimize resource use with the project superintendent, including craft assignments, crew sizes, and site logistics.
- Handle claims documentation.
- Coordinate material purchases, subcontractor agreements, and accurate issuance of change orders.
- Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, clients / owners, engineers, JV partners, and unions (if applicable).
- Foster relationships with contracting agencies, regulatory bodies, and executive management.
- Participate in project presentations to elected officials, the public, and stakeholders.
- Manage project closeout, including paperwork, retainages, claim resolution, and supervisor support.
- Conduct post-project debriefing to evaluate successes and challenges.
- Confidently negotiate cost, schedule, and contract matters on behalf of the company with owners and subcontractors.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited four-year institution (preferred).
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in construction and management.
- Experience with 2–4 DOT roadway projects, with high-traffic arterial projects highly valued.
