Certifications : BLS, CST
Must-Have :
- 2 years of Level 1 trauma experience
- CPR certified
- Proficiency in clinical skills and knowledge specific to Perioperative Services
- Epic experience required
- Ability to float within the facility or to affiliate facilities nearby
Description :
The Certified Operating Room Technician performs delegated duties to ensure the operating room environment is safe.
The technician ensures equipment is cleaned and functions appropriately.
They facilitate operative procedures under conditions that maximize patient safety.
The technician possesses expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques.
It is essential to combine knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation of tools and technologies.
The technician demonstrates proficiency in the scrub role across surgical specialties.
They provide fundamental components of patient comfort, safety, privacy, and respect within the perioperative setting.
The technician identifies and develops areas of expertise within surgical specialties.
They maintain a working knowledge of equipment, instrumentation, and supplies.
The technician performs effectively in emergent situations and responds appropriately as directed in emergencies.
They manage time effectively and accomplish caseload assignments in a timely manner.
The technician completes turnover of the operating room between cases within established timelines.
They utilize unassigned time productively.
