Studio Production & Photography Assistant
The Studio Production & Photography Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of our in-house studio, ensuring photo and video shoots run smoothly and efficiently. This role works closely with photographers, videographers, stylists, and producers to assist with setup, teardown, lighting, gear management, and general production needs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about photography, studio operations, and visual storytelling. The ideal candidate is highly organized, resourceful, and eager to learn more about commercial content production. Success in this position means keeping shoots running on time, maintaining an organized studio environment, and supporting the team in capturing high-quality creative content.
This position reports to the Manager of Content and is expected to work from the Adventure Sport platform in Irvine, CA.
As the Studio Production Assistant, you will have an opportunity to :
- Assist with on-set prep including lighting setup, camera gear, grip equipment, and product staging
- Help manage studio organization, gear checklists, and daily maintenance
- Support photographers and videographers during shoots by adjusting lighting, pulling focus, managing cables, and moving equipment
- Work with stylists and producers to keep talent, wardrobe, and props organized and on schedule
- Assist with digital asset handlingoffloading, organizing, and backing up footage and photography files as needed
- Ensure production spaces are tidy, safe, and reset after each shoot
- Handle miscellaneous production tasks such as prop sourcing, supply runs, or organizing call sheets
- Participate in pre-production meetings and provide logistical support for larger campaigns or location shoots
You have :
12 years of experience assisting in a photo, video, or content production setting preferredDegree or coursework in photography, film, media production, or a related field is a plusFamiliarity with basic camera systems, lighting gear, and studio equipmentComfortable lifting, moving, and setting up gear and setsWorking knowledge of Adobe Lightroom, Capture One, or file organization software is a bonusStrong multitasking and time management skills in fast-paced environmentsWillingness to learn on set and take direction with a positive attitudeReliable, punctual, and detail-orientedHands-on, problem-solving mentality with a proactive work ethicTeam-oriented and easy to work with on long or complex shoot daysFlexible with shifting priorities and occasional early mornings or long daysAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbsComfortable standing for extended periods and working in warehouse or on-location environmentsPay Range : Hourly Rate : $25.00 - $29.00. The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills / achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
