Job Summary :
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NM Tech) performs nuclear medicine, PET, and theranostic procedures under the supervision of a Radiologist. These procedures are conducted on both ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or licensed provider for the diagnosis of diseases and injuries. The technologist ensures all procedures are performed according to established protocols and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures, including PET imaging.Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals following regulatory and safety guidelines.Operate and maintain imaging and radiation detection equipment.Ensure accuracy and quality of imaging studies while minimizing radiation exposure.Maintain proper documentation and patient records in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.Adhere to all infection control, radiation safety, and departmental policies.Participate in continuing education and training to maintain professional competency.Required Qualifications :
Education :
Graduate of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine Technology.Certification / Licensure / Registration :
ARRT-N Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) .CNMT Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) .Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (or obtained upon hire).Experience :
