About the Role
The Directory of Information Technology (IT) will provide strategic and hands-on leadership of the organization’s technology function. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing a technology strategy that supports organizational goals, ensures secure and reliable operations, and empowers staff and volunteers to deliver excellent service. This position will oversee IT systems, infrastructure, vendor relationships, and a five-person engineering team, while ensuring compliance, security, and resiliency across all platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap aligned with organizational goals and mission.
Serve as a member of the executive leadership team, contributing to overall organizational strategy and decision-making.
Champion digital transformation and innovation to improve efficiency, service delivery, and user experience.
Asset Management : Implement systems to track, manage, and optimize the lifecycle of all hardware, software, and digital assets.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity : Design and maintain robust recovery plans to minimize downtime and data loss.
Cybersecurity : Establish and enforce policies, controls, and monitoring to protect sensitive data and systems against threats.
Vendor Management : Evaluate, select, and manage external technology partners, ensuring service quality, value, and compliance.
Lead, mentor, and develop a five-person engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Align team objectives with organizational priorities and ensure timely execution of projects.
Promote professional development and continuous learning among team members.
Oversee IT service delivery to staff and volunteers, ensuring reliable and user-friendly systems.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, legal requirements, and organizational policies.
Establish performance metrics to evaluate and improve technology operations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity, asset management, disaster recovery, and vendor management.
Experience leading technical teams, with proven ability to coach and develop staff.
Strong track record of managing enterprise-level IT systems and infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in nonprofit, community service, or mission-driven organizations.
Familiarity with technology environments that support both full-time staff and large volunteer networks.
Knowledge of youth sports operations, systems, or scheduling software.
