Reproductive/Perinatal Psychiatrist

Summary

We are seeking a Reproductive/Perinatal Psychiatrist to join our team, as an Independent Contractor, at New Dawn Treatment Center in Elk Grove, CA. This position helps coordinating the care of women with perinatal mental health concerns.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and supportive therapeutic environment for postpartum clients and their infants.
• Offer guidance on treatment recommendations, assessments, and non-pharmacological interventions.
• Use motivational interviewing techniques to support clinicians in their work with perinatal clients, helping them address mental health challenges related to pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period.
• Record information and maintain accurate client records in EMR.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Psychology preferred.
• Current California Licensure.
• Completion of advanced training or certification in perinatal mental health, strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of trauma informed care, postpartum mental health and community resources for women and families.
• Clinical experience working with perinatal or postpartum populations preferred.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
• Must have a current TB test or chest x-ray.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
