Summary / Objective :
The Special Projects Sheet Metal Mechanic fabricates, assembles, installs and repairs sheet metal using relevant equipment such as plenums, fire dampers, and diffusers.
Special Projects Sheet Metal Mechanics work on Smaller Commercial Construction Jobs ranging from $10,000 commercial upfits to $500,000 smaller new construction commercial buildings
Essential Functions :
Install and assemble sheet metal products using brakes, shears, drills, and pressesRead and understand blueprints, drawings and specificationsAbility to set out a line of Commercial Duct and hang it properly with the assistance of a helperInspect fabricated parts to ensure they meet required quality standards, and ensuring precision and accuracyMaintain and clean tools, equipment, and machinesAssist in team members to collaborate and complete tasks efficientlyAbility to perform tasks that require physical stamina such as lifting and moving materials, hand tools, shop / warehouse and construction environmentSupervisory Responsibility : No
Required :
2+ years of experience in sheet metal mechanic field; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experienceFamiliarity with duct mate, spiral, slide and drive ductworkMust be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail and demonstrate problem-solving skillsMust be able to pass post-offer pre-employment drug screen, and may be required to satisfactorily complete additional background checks as required (i.e. DMV, criminal history)Must adhere to all company policy and proceduresMust be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assignedThe work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following :
