Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for a Home Health position serving adult patients in Sarasota and Charlotte County, with home health and Florida or compact licensure required.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a home health setting with a focus on adult patients
  • Patient caseload includes med / surg, cardiac, orthopedic, neuro, post-surgical, trauma, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, CVA, Parkinson's, and more
  • Home skilled visits with a minimum of 6 patients per day, may increase at manager's discretion
  • Responsibilities include cardiac rehab, activities of daily living, splinting, orthotics / prosthetics, joint mobilization, evaluation and standardized assessment, patient and family education, and home exercise programs
  • Use of laptop, MiFi for internet access, and portable printers provided
  • Documentation required using BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, and Ace Timesheet system
  • Day shifts, Monday through Friday, from 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM
  • Self-scheduled visits and hours based on HomeCare office needs
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Provide comprehensive occupational therapy services including patient evaluation, safety training, care planning, and education
  • Daily caseload includes diverse diagnoses such as post-surgical recovery, neurological conditions, and respiratory issues
  • Support provided for billing and documentation processes
  • Work attire is any solid color scrubs
  • Permanent employees must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Return travelers are limited to certain specialties unless contract completed within last year
  • Facility is smoke free
  • Pre-employment modules and pass / fail EKG exam are required before start
  • No pre-approved time off (RTO); all requests must be coordinated directly with unit manager
  • Travelers may float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals if needed
  • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Current FL Occupational Therapist license or compact license required at the time of consideration (license required if applicable)
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of home health OT experience required; 2 years preferred
  • Ability to practice independently in a home health environment
  • Experience with adult patient care and relevant skills including assessment, transfers, and therapy interventions
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal car for home visits
  • COVID vaccination required or exemption form on file
  • Flu shot required or declination with mask mandate while at work
  • Must live at least 100 miles from the facility
