CASHIER

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team in the Retail Trade industry. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, accurately processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Your main goal will be to ensure that all customers leave our store satisfied with their experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Previous cash handling experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cash registers or point-of-sale systems
• Knowledge of basic math and the ability to divide in all units of measure
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers as they enter the store and provide them with a positive shopping experience
• Accurately process cash, credit, and debit transactions using a cash register or point-of-sale system
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment and surfaces
• Answer customer questions and provide information about products and services
• Assist with inventory management and restocking merchandise as needed
• Maintain the cleanliness of the store.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Skills:

As a Cashier, you will use your cash handling experience and customer service skills on a daily basis. You will need to be patient and attentive to customer needs, while also maintaining accuracy and efficiency in processing transactions. Additionally, you will use your organizational skills to keep the checkout area clean and well-stocked. Basic math skills will also be necessary to accurately process transactions and make change. Finally, you will need to be able to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with both customers and coworkers.
