California Psychiatric Transitions is a fully licensed 98 bed Mental Health Rehabilitation Center located on seven and a half acres in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley.
Currently we are looking to hire an Activity Coordinator.
Required Qualifications
Candidate must have one of the following licenses : Licensed Occupational Therapist, or Music Therapist, or Art Therapist, or Dance Therapist, or Recreation Therapist and shall have 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program with in the past 5 years , 1 year of which was full-time in client activities and programs in a mental health setting.
The Activity Coordinator at California Psychiatric Transitions will be under the supervision of the Program Director.
Job Duties
- They will be responsible for development and implementation of the activity program. They will coordinate the activity schedule and other client services.
- They will post the activity schedule in visible print, for the information of clients and staff. The Activity Coordinator will maintain age-appropriate equipment and supplies in sufficient quantity.
- They will develop and maintain contacts with the community agencies and organizations. The Activity Coordinator will maintain progress notes specific to the leisure and activity needs of the clients, at least quarterly, and more frequently as needed.
- They will also maintain an up-to-date record of the type and frequency of activities provided and the names of the residents participating in each activity.
- If California Psychiatric Transitions chooses to or has a need the Activity Coordinator may assist with recruiting, training, and supervising a volunteer program to assist with and augment services of the activity program.
- Due to the unpredictable nature of the psychiatric profession employees are to engage in crisis prevention procedures for the safety, health and welfare of the residents and staff.
- In addition to specific job duties, due to the nature of the psychiatric field, at times, you will be expected to; stand for long periods of time, bend, kneel, lift, carry and walk swiftly or run.
- During employment, interdepartmental duties may be assigned by supervisors or be requested by employees. Upon administrative approval, and based on operational need, these requests may be granted. Administrative approval is defined as; Facility Director, Department Heads and / or Supervisors.
Annual Salary Range : $65k / year to $75K / year depending on experience.
