Civil / Heavy Highway Estimator

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Department of Transportation (DOT) Estimator to join their team. In this role, you'll prepare accurate cost estimates for heavy highway and DOT construction projects . You'll analyse project plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure all costs are captured and projects are competitively bid.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for DOT and heavy highway projects from start to finish.

Review project documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy.

Identify cost-saving options and value engineering opportunities.

Coordinate pre-bid activities and align resources.

Maintain strong client relationships throughout the bidding process.

Present project scopes and cost breakdowns to clients and team members.

Mentor and support junior estimators.

Requirements

Experience in estimating DOT or heavy highway construction projects.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Knowledge of DOT retaining wall and sound wall systems (required).

P.E & Civil Engineering background preferred.

Proactive, reliable, and committed to quality work.
