Job Description :

This is a grant-funded position that is up for renewal in August 2026.
The Student Support Services Advisor is responsible for recruiting and welcoming participants, assessing their needs, and providing academic, career, and financial aid counseling. The advisor assists with transfer services to four-year institutions and with financial aid and transfer processes. The advisor acts as a liaison to key offices, such as Enrollment and Financial Aid, managing a caseload, and monitoring student progress. Additionally, the advisor maintains accurate records, reports on student academic status, and ensures compliance with institutional and federal reporting requirements. The advisor supervises up to three Peer Mentors, including training, tracking their hours, and supporting their personal and academic growth.

Collaborate with institutional departments (e.g., Financial Aid, Career Services, Student Accessibility & Well Being ) to connect students with appropriate campus resources and support services.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, plus one (1) year of related experience in student affairs, higher education, working experience in an educational setting, or working with people on career & academic goal setting, or working with people utilizing case management
OR
Associates degree, plus three (3) years of related experience in student affairs, higher education, working experience in an educational setting, or working with people on career & academic goal setting, or working with people utilizing case management.
Working knowledge of admissions, financial aid, and issues specific to the populations targeted by the SSS program.
Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with faculty, campus officials, staff, community organizations, other agencies, and students from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
This position requires the use of a company vehicle for business travel. The selected candidate must successfully pass an MVR and be insurable under Aims insurance.
