Job Purpose

In the PS&P business unit, the product test engineer is responsible for the quality of new products under development, and confirms the quality through product testing and specification setting activities in order to meet the customer’s requirements and maintain Honda’s high quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Accountabilities

• Confirm the quality of new products and components under development using these methods :

Product bench marking against competitors and market sensing

Deadlines achieved (Testing Milestones)

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Required Education :

Bachelor'd Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, etc)

Required Experience :

5 or more years of engineering experience (Power equipment or powersports preferred)

Decisions Expected

Working Conditions

Travel : Amount varies based on project

demands / responsibilities,

conferences, etc.; includes possible overseas travel.

Physical : Splits time between desk and shop working with the actual machines. Kneeling, standing, squatting, reaching, or bending required. Ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally.

Hazards : Risks found in a typical office & shop setting. May be exposed to

explosives / flammables,

pressurized equipment, toxic chemicals and moving parts.

Overtime : Overtime expected based on project

demands / responsibilities.

Maintains professional conduct and follows all departmental, safety DEPARTMENT, and COMPANY policies, Procedures, AND rules.
