The Accounts Receivable & Accounting Supervisor oversees the full cycle of accounts receivable and accounts payable operations, ensuring accurate transaction processing, timely collections, and efficient vendor payments. This role manages billing, cash applications, aging follow-up, bank reconciliation, and dispute resolution, while leading a team to maintain compliance and support financial reporting goals.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
Accounts Receivable & Reporting :
- Generate and issue customer invoices through Microsoft Business Central in a timely and accurate manner
- Monitor AR aging reports, follow up on overdue accounts, and support cash flow management
- Post customer payments, reconcile deposits, and maintain accurate customer account records
- Issue customer statements and review credit limits based on payment behavior
- Resolve customer invoicing disputes promptly and professionally
- Perform monthly reconciliations of AR balances and bank deposits
- Prepare and distribute monthly sales reports for manufacturers
- Generate monthly and quarterly financial and sales reporting packages for management review
Accounts Payable Oversight :
Supervise vendor invoice processing, expense coding, and payment schedulingReview and approve check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers for accuracy and availability of fundsEnsure timely and compliant processing of vendor payments and credit reconciliationsSupervisory & Accounting Functions :
Oversee daily AR / AP operations, ensuring deadlines and accuracy standards are metMaintain documented accounting procedures and internal controls for AR / AP functionsLead month-end closing activities related to AR / AP, including reconciliations and final reportingConduct performance reviews, goal-setting, and corrective actions for team members as neededProvide guidance, training, and process support to AR / AP staff to ensure departmental efficiencyMonitor compliance with company policies and state regulations regarding employee meal and rest periodsIdentify workflow inefficiencies and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and throughputCollaborate with sales, warehouse, and management teams to align financial operations with business objectivesRequired Qualifications & Skills :
Qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.Minimum 5 years of progressive AR / AP accounting experienceLeadership experience supervising AR / AP staff and processesStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Business Central or similar ERP systemAdvanced proficiency in Excel and Outlook for reporting and communicationHigh accuracy in invoicing, payment posting, and account reconciliationStrong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate aging reports, variances, and cash flow impactExcellent communication skills to manage internal teams, customers, and vendor relationshipsAbility to handle multiple priorities with strict attention to deadlines and documentationProven ability to train, mentor, and hold staff accountable to performance standardsExperience enforcing company policies and issuing corrective actions where necessaryBenefits & Compensation

Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position.
