Summary
The Warehouse Lead contributes to meeting company goals of exceptional customer service, quality, process improvement, and profitability by ensuring that the designated finished good items / raw materials and quantity of items are correctly picked, packed, and shipped promptly and according to client specifications. The Lead will be responsible for ensuring that production support is performed timely, accurately, and efficiently. The Lead will coordinate the activities of the warehouse department employees, including but not limited to ensuring the ERP system is used according to the company’s expectations, resources are utilized efficiently and cost-effectively, and in accordance with department objectives, creating a positive team environment.
Essential Duties & Job Responsibilities
- Comply with all plant, federal, state, OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
- In addition to fulfilling the daily responsibilities of a Warehouse Associate III, Warehouse Lead provides direct assistance to the Supervisor / Manager by helping assign workloads and expedite workflow
- Issue written and oral instructions for daily work schedules as directed by the Supervisor / Manager
- Ensure work is performed by the team according to all company policies and procedures
- Keep associates productive during the workday
- Provide input to the Warehouse Supervisor and Manager regarding process improvement
- Maintain the integrity of products through proper handling and storage
- Perform daily inspection and documentation of forklift to ensure safe operation
- Maintain accurate inventories
- Works with inventory control to ensure accuracy of ERP system : Raw, WIP, and Finished Goods Inventories.
- Performs inventory cycle counts regularly and when needed
- Supports internal customers with an excellent customer service attitude
- Hand picking and packing, operating various forklift equipment, sealing and / or banding shipments, receiving, quality control, performing cycle counts, housekeeping, etc.
- Ensure quality checks are made at the appropriate stages of Receiving, Manufacturing, and Shipping.
- Help with daily work tasks as needed
- Maintain accurate inventory records by completing logs and documents, inputting shipment information.
- Fill out the corresponding paperwork for inspections
- Ensures all products are moved into production following correct stock rotation.
- Inspect and receive incoming shipments
- Verify shipment by comparing the bill of lading to the shipment scheduled
- Process all truck Shipments and deliveries promptly
- Operate equipment according to all safety guidelines
- Motivate employees to work in a team environment
- Ensure safety compliance with the organization's policy, State and Federal regulations, and oversee and ensure the cleanliness of the work environment
- Enforce HACCP, SOP, and GMP procedures and commit to Food Safety as well as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Safety purposes
Education & Experience
High School Diploma required. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.Must have at least one year of experience as a leader in a warehouse environment.Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience operating forklift equipment (stand up, sit down, pallet jack, etc.).Qualified to operate PIT equipment (forklifts and pallet jacks); must be able to pass forklift testPrevious experience working in a manufacturing environment strongly preferredExperience working with ERP systemsComputer savvy, including data entry; experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook; as well as internet-based applicationsExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills, problem-solving solving and organizational skillsWorking knowledge of warehouse equipment and safetyDemonstrate full knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices policies and proceduresPowered by JazzHR
