Our Client is ls seeking a Payroll Specialist This person will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees across multiple properties. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality, and strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations. The Payroll Specialist will work closely with HR, Accounting, and Property Managers to ensure payroll data is collected and processed correctly, while also responding to employee inquiries with professionalism and care.
Responsibilities :
- Process bi-weekly (or weekly) payroll for all employees across multiple properties and locations.
- Review and verify timekeeping records, pay rates, deductions, and other payroll data for accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
- Administer and reconcile benefits deductions, garnishments, and other payroll-related items.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports for management and accounting.
- Maintain and update payroll records in the HRIS / payroll system.
- Handle employee questions and concerns regarding pay, taxes, or timekeeping promptly and professionally.
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2s and other tax filings.
- Collaborate with HR and Accounting on audits and reporting as needed.
- Recommend and implement improvements to payroll processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications :
Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi-site or real estate / property management environment.Proficiency with payroll software (ADP, Paylocity, Paychex, or similar).Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and wage / hour compliance.Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with employees and managementExperience with property management systems (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio) a plus.Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation or working toward certification preferred.Bilingual (English / Spanish) a plus.What We Offer :
