American Traveler is seeking a travel Home Health Occupational Therapist for a travel job in Newton, Massachusetts.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of certified home care experience for a float position in a home health setting covering multiple Boston-area neighborhoods.

Responsibilities

  • Home health position providing care in patients' residences
  • Float role covering Back Bay, Beacon Hill, Boston, Cambridge, Charlestown, Chinatown, Fenway, Financial District, Kenmore, North End, Prudential, South Boston, South End, and West End
  • Day shift schedule from 08 : 00 to 16 : 30
  • Patients range in age from birth to over 100 years
  • Use of Epic for charting is required
  • Travel required within the geographic service area
  • Provide occupational therapy assessments and interventions to patients with cognitive and / or physical impairments
  • Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and allied health professionals to coordinate care
  • Manage technical, environmental, and financial resources to meet patient needs
  • Must have strong verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
  • FLU vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
  • No validated parking available at Boston locations; public transportation and paid parking options only
  • Local candidates must have permanent residence 60 miles from Boston; local pay differentials apply
  • RTO (requested time off) must be disclosed for consideration

    • Requirements

  • Active Occupational Therapist license in MA required; conditional licenses not accepted
  • Minimum 1 year of certified home health experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in acute care, rehab, or homecare as an OT
  • Registered with the Board of Registration in Massachusetts
  • Certifications must be American Heart Association (AHA) only
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and handle various computer software and handheld devices
  • Proof of MA licensure required at time of consideration
